MGGEU participated in “InvaExpo. Society for Everyone” Exhibition

MGGEU took part in the VII International Specialized Exhibition “InvaExpo. Society for Everyone” which was held in Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre on November 9 – 11, 2017.

The Annual Exhibition is organized in the context of Russia’s signing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and implementation of “Accessible Environment” state programme supported by legislative and executive branches of the Russian Federation, Moscow, and regional governmental bodies and the Russian Paralympic Committee.

This year the exhibition was sponsored by the Commission for the Disabled under the President of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, Ministry of Healthcare, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Transport and the Russian TASS News Agency.

The exhibition organizing committee was headed by Terentyev Mikhail Borisovich, Chairman of the All-Russian Society of Disabled People, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans’ Affairs, Russian Paralympian.

The «InvaExpo: Society for Everyone» is an exhibition platform for Russian rehabilitation industry forming an accessible environment for disabled people in this country.

The event program included interactive platforms, workshops, the “Parents and Children” Day, sports games and other activities.  The exhibit put on display technical facilities designed by domestic and international contractors of equipment for disabled people and people with limited mobility, inclusive and handicapped employment centers, health resorts, as well as social projects for disabled people from travel companies, governmental and non-governmental organizations, charitable and public funds.

The students of our university helped with organizing the “Parents and Children” Day. The event offered such activities as a concert program, adaptive physical education and applied art master-classes, including beadwork and plastic arts for children of secondary school age and older pre-school children, respectively.

As part of the exhibition «InvaExpo », the MGGEU resource training center taught a master-class on vocational guidance for students with disabilities in an inclusive environment, which was a case-study of innovative technologies in vocational guidance work with such students and efficient assistance to their professional self-determination.
