“Inclusive Social Volunteering School” Project Starts at MGGEU

On October 5, 2018, the grand opening of the “Inclusive Social Volunteering School” took place in the MGGEU auditorium. The ceremony was attended by students, teachers and guests, as well as volunteers from MGGEU partner universities involved with the Resource Curricular Center regional network, namely Tambov and Zelenograd.

The event was opened by the head of the MGGEU project “Inclusive Social Volunteering School”, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, M.N. Tsygankova. In her speech she emphasized that inclusive MGGEU volunteer movement practice proved that participation of youth both with and without disabilities in volunteering equally develops pro-active attitudes. Public Relations Specialist of the Resource Center for Development and Support of the Volunteer Movement “Mosvolonter” А.А. Nikolenko stated that the School will provide volunteer training courses and an opportunity to get a foot in the door, participate in volunteer projects and charity events.

The head of the Foundation “I Love Life” N.H. Safiulina congratulated on the opening of the “Inclusive Social Volunteering School” and spoke about the foundation created for social support and rehabilitation of people with disabilities for psychological assistance, promoting healthy lifestyle and the development of volunteering among young people.

The head of the project “Inclusive Volunteering School” of the Foundation “I Love Life”, Associate Professor of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, member of the international organization of volunteers “International Association for Volunteer Effort”, PhD in Education Z.A. Trosk said that this project was created by the Foundation “I Love Life” and had been cooperating with MGGEU for more than three years. University students are active participants of all the events held by the foundation.

After that the floor was given to the best of MGGEU volunteers – Kirill Tkachev and Elizaveta Bondarenko. They called on the freshmen students to join the volunteer organization. Victoria Sycheva and Yulia Dongak noted that their participation in the School of Inclusive Volunteering of “I love life” gave them new opportunities for self-fulfillment and allowed them to believe in themselves.

The festivities were celebrated with musical performances from the students: Valentina Simonova, Miss University Moscow Taisiya Shilova and Daria Sadokhina, who is not only a volunteer of “I Love Life” but a singer, songwriter and participant of television shows and charity concerts.

Volunteering is all about ideals of service, solidarity and the belief that together we can make this world a better place!
